MSc AI & Innovation Management · Bologna Business School
Let's demystify the Future. AI Integration with a Human Touch.
I'm Brian O'Sullivan, an Irish consultant and AI Project Specialist working in Bologna, Italy. I possess a Master's in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Management from Bologna Business School, University of Bologna, my work lives at the intersection of structural workflow automation and human-centric change management.
Before pivoting into tech, my career spanned commercial operations, international education, and business development across Ireland, Spain, and Italy. From managing institutional relationships with Spain's Ministry of Defence to hitting rigorous commercial targets, I learned how businesses actually operate. That background gives me a highly practical perspective on building AI that solves real-world bottlenecks.
I believe the biggest threat to enterprise productivity isn't a lack of tools; it's a lack of trust and clarity. I build the autonomous AI agents that handle the heavy lifting, while ensuring the human teams using them feel empowered, not replaced.

Partnered with VAR Group to build a predictive machine learning model identifying dormant clients ready to repurchase. Analyzed years of purchasing history and seasonal data anomalies to transition the marketing team from scattergun outreach to a highly targeted, data-driven strategy.
Co-developed an end-to-end NLP pipeline to evaluate procurement fraud risk across 139,000+ public contracts in Ireland. Engineered text features using TF-IDF and 768-dimensional sentence embeddings to detect anomalies like copy-paste bid descriptions. The final supervised Logistic Regression model combined text and structured indicators, achieving a PR-AUC of 0.804.
Managed and delivered specialist training programmes in coordination with Spanish state institutions including the Ministry of Defence and Guardia Civil. Designed curricula balancing rigorous compliance requirements with practical, engaging delivery.
Feedback from colleagues, clients, and collaborators across Europe.
Honestly didn't know what to expect going in. Brian just got it straight away. Knew our business, asked the right questions, no waffle. We came out of it with an actual plan we could use. Would recommend him to anyone.
Brian was a standout student in my AI Fundamentals course at Bologna Business School, where he achieved the highest possible grade of 30 cum laude. What sets him apart is his multidisciplinary background, combining sociology, politics and linguistics with genuine technical literacy in AI and machine learning. Add to that his professional experience across multiple countries and languages, and you have someone who understands both the human and strategic dimensions of AI in a way that is genuinely rare. I have no hesitation in recommending him."
Perspectives on AI, innovation culture, and the future of intelligent organisations.
The biggest AI failures aren't technical, they're cultural. Drawing on my background in sociology and frontline AI work, I explore why the human layer is where every roadmap lives or dies.
AI StrategyMost AI pilots fail at the rollout stage. Here's a practical framework for embedding AI tools into daily workflows in ways that actually get used and improve over time.
Digital TransformationAI governance isn't a compliance checkbox. It's a strategic asset. I make the case for why building responsible AI frameworks early is the single biggest competitive differentiator for mid-market firms.
